Just when I thought I’ve heard about all the beautiful resorts here or near Davao … along came CRASH LANDING RESORT!

Last Saturday (April 12, 2008), we had the opportunity to visit one of Mindanao’s best kept secrets courtesy of my cousin Kaka Bebe, who just turned a year “wiser” last weekend. Crash Landing Resort is located in Darong, Sta. Cruz, which is not too far away from the confines of Davao City. It takes about 40 minutes or so to reach the place from city proper, depending on traffic conditions.

The terms “Sea Wall” and “Bay Walk” are already becoming a little too common. I mean, there’s a Sea wall and Bay Walk in Manila. Then there’s a Sea wall in Cebu. And of course we have a Sea Wall here in Davao too. In other words, there’s basically a “Sea Wall” almost everywhere in the Philippines.

I passed along Ilustre Street earlier today. Out of curiousity, I decided to check out Amgar Plaza (the small nook in front of Peter Pan) since I haven’t been there for ages. Once there I was very surprised to find out that Goldie Chicken House is still operational.

My father is an intelligent man. He passed the BAR exams with flying colors. And throughout his long stint as a government official, he was respected and considered as an intellectual by several prominent people, including the likes of Davao mayor Rodrigo Duterte and former Paglas Mayor Toto Paglas.

My family usually drops by at Taklobo Restaurant at least once a year. However, we haven’t dined there for like two years. So when my papa attended a function at Jack’s Ridge earlier tonight, my mom decided to bring us along so we can have dinner at Taklobo as well.
